Novak through the semis!!!

Djokovic claims latest scalp! Against Nadal in Montreal semis!

Serbia's Novak Djokovic continued his magnificent season beating former world number one Andy Roddick 7:6 (7:4), 6:4 to reach the semi-finals of the Canada Masters in Montreal.

The recent Washington Classic champion Roddick looked like the stronger of the two players during an early stalemate, earning repeated chances to break serve though failing to convert. But the 20-year-old Djokovic, a semi-finalist at both the French Open and Wimbledon earlier this year, claimed the first break of the match in the 11th game of the opener thanks to back-to-back winners.

He then immediately handed Roddick the break-back with a double-fault on break point, however, to allow the first set to reach a tie-break.But Djokovic, who had won 20 of 24 tie-breaks this season coming into this match, came back from a mini-break down before taking the breaker 7:4 with back-to-back service winners.

In the second set the third seeded Djokovic completely imposed on his service games, racking up 13 aces.

While the Serbian's serve never looked under threat, Roddick struggled repeatedly complaining to umpire Gerry Armstrong over line calls and appealing to Hawk-Eye on a number of occasions. While Roddick seemed distracted, the 20-year-old Miami Masters champion maintained his focus closing out the match with a break of serve thanks to some typically gorgeous backhand passes.

Djokovic will next face world number two Rafael Nadal, who eliminated Frank Dancevic in three sets.
